Our Dining Experience

The Cypress Room offers delicious breakfast and dinner options, served in our oceanfront dining room, on the outdoor veranda (weather permitting), or to-go for in-suite dining. Our poolside Tiki Hut offers fresh hot and cold sandwiches, salads, lighter fare, and your favorite beverages. Vista Pizza offers housemade hot and fresh in-room delivery or take-out from the restaurant.

The Lounge has a tasty selection of light bites and an array of beer, wine, and craft cocktails. Check out our Happy Hour!

With a passion for flavor and commitment to quality, Chef Steven brings over 20 years of experience and knowledge to The Cypress Room.

Steven discovered his love for the culinary arts during his first job in 1997 at Sea Island Inn, now known as Island Vista Resort, our beautiful hotel today! He moved to Charleston to further his culinary education at Johnson and Wales University. Chef Steven quickly fell in love with Charleston and honed his culinary skills at renowned kitchens in Charleston, including Hanks Seafood and Pearlz Oyster Bar. He took some time a few years ago to travel with his partner, Sarah, driving across the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and British Columbia before settling in Breckenridge, CO.

After years of traveling the world, Chef Steven returned home to Myrtle Beach with his partner, Sarah, and their newborn to be closer to family. The opportunity arose, and he began his latest culinary adventure at The Cypress Room in Island Vista Resort, making his career come full circle. Drawing inspiration from his travels, Chef Steven believes in the power of food to connect people and create lasting memories.
